Leadership and Spiritual Development Course for Priests and Religious in South Africa

The Mater Dei Pastoral Centre in Mokopane, South Africa hosted a Leadership and Spiritual Development Course for Priests and Religious from April 8-18.

In a groundbreaking event, the Mater Dei Pastoral Centre in Mokopane, South Africa recently hosted a Leadership and Spiritual Development Course for Priests and Religious from April 8th to 18th, 2024. The course brought together 24 participants, including Priests, Sisters, and a Brother, who are working in four different countries: Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, and South Africa.

The ten-day course aimed to enhance the leadership and spiritual development of those in attendance, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to better serve their respective communities. The participants engaged in a series of workshops, discussions, and activities led by experts in the field, with a focus on harnessing their leadership potential and deepening their spiritual connections. As part of the workshop, one day was dedicated to the Visual Presentation of the entire Bible. We are in the process of developing a new method in teaching Bible. We have already used this method for few groups here and various parishes.

This diverse group of individuals, hailing from various backgrounds and cultures, came together to share their experiences, learn from one another, and grow in their faith. The course was hailed as a success, with participants expressing gratitude for the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and enhance their leadership abilities.

As these Priests, Sisters, and Brother return to their respective countries, they do so with a renewed sense of purpose and a strengthened commitment to their communities. The Mater Dei Pastoral Centre looks forward to hosting similar events in the future, continuing to empower and support those who dedicate their lives to serving others.
