Deacon Michael James - New coordinator for Latin America and Caribbean

Deacon Michael James has been appointed as the new coordinator of the Latin American and Caribbean Subregion of the Catholic Biblical Federation.


After consultation among members of CBF-LAC, the Secretary-General, Fr. Jan J. Stefanów SVD proposed Deacon Michael James as the new coordinator of the Latin American and Caribbean Subregion of the Catholic Biblical Federation and submitted this for the approval of the Executive Committee of the Catholic Biblical Federation. In an e-mail the vote members of the Executive Committee approved the proposal and Deacon Mike James was appointed Coordinator of the Latin America and Caribbean Subregion of the Catholic Biblical Federation on September 10, 2015.

Mike James was born in 1945 in Guyana. In 1976 he married Maria Diaz of Mexico. They have two children. In 2002 Mike was ordained a permanent deacon. He has held various management positions in the Catholic Church of the Antilles. His last post was that of General Secretary General of the Antilles Episcopal Conference (AEC). He and his wife Maria are very committed to the Biblical Animation of all Pastoral Life (ABP). Last year Mike retired and moved with Maria to Cancun (Mexico) where they currently live.
