Meeting of the CBF Administrative Board with Cardinal Reinhard Marx.
On Friday, February 9, 2024, the Archbishop of the Diocese of Munich-Freising, Cardinal Reinhard Marx, received the delegation of the Administrative Board and the General Secretary of the Catholic Biblical Federation.
The meeting, which took place in the Palace of the Bishops of Munich, was attended by the following participants:
- Card. Reinhard Marx - Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Munich-Freising
- Bishop Bernhard Haßlberger - Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus of the Archdiocese of Munich-Freising; former Chairman of the CBF Administrative Board
- Prof. Thomas P. Osborne - new Chairman of the CBF Administrative Board
- Dr. Oliver Bludovsky - member of the CBF Administrative Board
- Fr. Jan J. Stefanów SVD - General Secretary of the CBF
The meeting was held at the initiative of the administration of the Catholic Biblical Federation and had the following objectives:
- to thank Cardinal Marx for his support of the CBF during the years of the presence of the CBF General Secretariat of the Federation in St. Ottilien.
- to explore the possibilities of continuing the CBF's cooperation with the Archdiocese of Munich-Freising and other dioceses of Bavaria
- to consult the Cardinal on possible ways and forms of maintaining the Federation's ties with the Catholic Church in Germany after the transfer of the CBF General Secretariat to Rome after its 50-year presence in Germany.
The Catholic Church in Germany remains the largest and most important supporter of the Catholic Biblical Federation in general and of the CBF General Secretariat in particular.
