First Meeting of the new CBF Executive Committee

On 20 April 2023, the new Executive Committee of the Catholic Biblical Federation held its meeting in Mar del Plata, Argentina. The two main tasks of this meeting were to elect a new Moderator and Vice Moderator and to make a decision about the status of the current Administrative Board.

Mary Elizabeth Sperry was elected as the Moderator and Bishop Lucio Andrice Muandula was elected as the Vice Moderator.

Several members of the Administrative Board have either resigned or asked not to be considered for the new Administrative Board. It was decided that the current Administrative Board will be retained until the Holy See has approved the statutes of the Catholic Biblical Federation. It will be reconstituted no later than ninety days after the approval is received.

The Executive Committee recommended that the Administrative Board elect Bishop Meier as chair.
