In preparation for the Plenary Assembly of the Catholic Biblical Federation in November 2021, we invite all members and friends of our Federation to pray for God’s blessing, the Holy Spirit’s guidance, and the intercession of Mary, the Mother of the Word, for all its regions and their activities.
The intention for this month you can find here:
Biblical ministry in the African region is a fruit of an ongoing and lively cooperation between the Catholic Biblical Federation and the Biblical Center for Africa and Madagascar (BICAM). The latter brings together all Bishop’s Conferences on the continent. Its mission to promote the Bible and biblical formation among Catholics fits well with the mission of the Federation at large. CBF, for its part, contributes to the work of BICAM by coordinating activities of local biblical centers and institutions run by dioceses, religious orders, and lay associations. Noteworthy is the emphasis of this region on the translation of the Bible into local languages and its distribution. Thanks to the cooperation of the CBF and Kindermissionswerk from Aachen, an elaborate biblical-pastoral project, LectioYouth.Net, was developed and implemented for the youth and adults of Africa, with the aim of providing sound and advanced biblical formation available through the internet.
"If you speak in his language you speak to his heart" (Nelson Mandela). We are happy to announce the good news: the Kikongo ya leta Bible is finally here! VERBUM BIBLE, which has published the Bible in Lingala, Swahili and Tshiluba, has just completed its mission to make the Word of God available in the four national languages in the Democratic Republic of Congo. To help church pastors and Christians to get an insight into the rich content of this Bible, this video is made available to you. Please share it with as many people as possible. (Share it with your friends who speak Kikongo)
LectioYouth.Net is a Catholic program for systematic reading and study of the Word of God. It is intended for groups and individuals, particularly the youth in Africa and Madagascar.
The primary goal of LectioYouth.Net is to facilitate the encounter with the word of God through Bible study groups, especially for youth. It is devoted to systematic and regular study and reflection on the Word of God, in order to be guided and transformed on both the personal and local community level. Since it is intended primarily but not exclusively for the Catholic community, its primary, but not exclusive, beneficiary is the Catholic community.
LectioYouth.Net follows the Catholic liturgical calendar of Africa and Madagascar providing biblical study materials and resources for the Sundays and Feasts of the liturgical year.
Based on facebook, the Livraria Paulinas has become a "new stage" with live music by young talents of Catholic music. A show of African talent and beauty.
