Orlando Fernández Guerra ist ständiger Diakon der Erzdiözese Havanna. In diesem schwierigen Jahr 2020 sind es siebzehn Jahre seit seiner Weihe, während eines Großteils dieser Zeit leitete er die Abteilung für biblische Animation der Pastoral der Erzdiözese von Havanna.
